Rated this a “5” on location because it’s the only hotel in Kotzebue. The people were very nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable, especially given how remote the location is. Make a reservation to eat at the restaurant, it’s one of the few in town and the food is pretty good. View is pretty.

The rooms and hotel are very clean and well maintained. The service staff at the hotel are really helpful and everyone is friendly. The location is about perfect being right on the water. Even during winter when the ocean is frozen.

Stayed for one night while visiting Kotzebue. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Room was nicely furnished. There’s also a very nice observation lounge with views over the sound. ||We ate in the hotel restaurant which was pretty busy. Food was freshly cooked to order and portion sizes were generous, to the point of being too big. We had the reindeer stew which was excellent, and the Cajun chicken pasta which needed less chicken and more sauce but was still good.||Breakfast is a selection of (chargeable) grab and go items from the little store in the lobby - but the breakfast burritos were tasty!||Hotel is not cheap but for a rural community it is a very nice place to stay. Postcards are $4 each.||The hotel is a 5-minute drive from the airport and the taxi fare was $14 each way (for two of us).

We stayed here for 3 nights in our quest to visit the 2 national parks in the arctic circle.|Very pleasantly surprised to find such a nice location in such an out of the way place. Our room was modern and very clean and comfortable. The restaurant also had an extensive selection and the food was quite tasty with a fairly reasonable cost considering the area. The servers were all courteous and friendly as were the front desk personnel, especially George at the front desk, who answered all our questions and gave us some tips. And Keith quickly took care of a lighting issue in the room.|A special thank you to Jeanette, the manager, who went out of her way to make sure we got to the airport on time. Also appreciated her filling out an Arctic Circle Certificate for us.

My biggest issues are the exhaust smell in my room that keeps me up at night coughing and eyes tearing. The manager explained that everyone has to suffer it and changing rooms won’t help. I’m staying here for almost 3 months , my stay is employer sponsored, and the room features a tiny fridge. I asked if I can utilize the hotel freezer and luckily I was able to do so. There is no smoking within 20 ft of the hotel entrance, however, you are greeted with a cloud of cigarette smoke and weed smoke stepping out of the hotel . On a positive note, the staff is friendly and the hotel is clean and quiet.

Such a nice, clean, comfortable hotel! There is not much to do in this town and it is pretty run down, but the hotel is kept up nicely. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly! The wifi was pretty bad but what can you expect when you are so remote!? The restaurant on site was convenient as there are few in town but service was slow and the staff seemed hesitant to communicate. But the food was delicious!

Very good hotel! The rooms are very nice and I live the resteraunt in it. I highly reccomend the strawberry lemonade. Also keep in mind the hotel only has a shower but besides that I had a good stay The pictures below is the food I ordered at their resteraunt

Only hotel in Kotzebue but great interior. Feels very updated with great views of the Bering Sea. Less than a 15 min walk to the airport or a 5 min cab ride. Easy to walk to several restaurants and the Northwest Arctic Heritage Center. The restaurant in the hotel was great and you could eat in with a reservation or order pick up. Meals were a definite winner. Quiet in the evening. Stayed for 3 nights and well worth it. Great times.

This hotel was rebuilt in 2011, and is very nice. Rooms were spacious enough for a couple. Nice views of the Sound/Arctic Ocean. Be advised that there are alcohol restrictions - none - in the hotel. So be respectful of the community in Kotzebue (it is considered "Damp", per Alaska standards. The staff was exceptionally helpful and very friendly. The associated restaurant is also very good. You can get a Polar Bear Plunge certificate by jumping in the sound. It's about a 10 min walk from the Alaska Airlines terminal.

Loved the staff and restaurant. Was accommodating for my celiacs and made sure my food was safe. The garlic shrimp were YUM! My room was on the fourth floor and had an Arctic ocean view! The only bad part, but also made me work less while in the room was the wifi connection. That was an issue for the whole "almost island." Still 5 star

This was a really nice hotel! The room was super clean and comfortable. The staff was incredible and accommodating. Our flight got delayed and they let us stay in their lounge! If you're looking for a place to stay in the hub of Kotzebue, look no further! P.s, we had an ocean view and it was lovely
